IdealBee Classic is a ready-to-use liquid carbohydrate feed formulated to help honey bee colonies replenish their food reserves when natural forage or existing stores are insufficient.

Manufactured by Dulcofruct, this high-fructose syrup is formulated for easy digestion by honey bees. It also provides a balanced microelement content adapted to bee nutrition and has a carefully formulated pH.

IdealBee Classic requires no mixing, heating or dissolving, simply pour the required quantity into a clean, suitable hive feeder. It is supplied in a practical 13kg jerry can with a secure, resealable cap, making it convenient to carry, dispense and store between feeds.

When to use:

IdealBee Classic can be used for supplementary feeding when colonies require additional carbohydrate stores, including:

• After the honey harvest
• During nectar shortages or periods of limited forage
• When preparing colonies for winter
• When an inspection shows that stores are insufficient
• When established colonies or nucs require supplementary feeding

Always assess each colony individually before feeding, taking account of its strength, existing stores, weather conditions and access to natural forage.

For replenishing food reserves, feed IdealBee Classic undiluted using a clean, suitable hive feeder.

Administer approximately 500g to 1kg per colony every 3–5 days, adjusting the quantity and frequency according to colony requirements and consumption.

Avoid spilling syrup around the hive or apiary, as this may encourage robbing. Do not feed while honey supers intended for harvesting are fitted, as bees may store syrup alongside the honey crop.

Storage:

It should be stored in ventilated rooms, away from moisture, between the temperatures -15ºC÷ +35°C. 

Store upright in the original container with the cap securely closed. Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

Always use clean equipment when dispensing and avoid introducing water or contaminants into the original container. Follow the storage instructions and best-before date printed on the product label.
