Each nuc is an established, functioning colony containing approximately 12,000 bees, brood at different stages of development, food stores and a healthy, marked, laying Buckfast queen. Our nucs are carefully built up and monitored to ensure they are strong and ready to develop rapidly once transferred into their new hive.

Your 5-frame nucleus colony will include:

• Approximately 12,000 bees
• 5 British Standard brood frames covered with bees
• At least 3 frames containing brood at various stages
• 1 or more frames containing food stores
• A fifth frame providing laying space and additional stores
• A marked, established laying Buckfast queen
• A strong colony that has been regularly monitored for health

Once transferred into a full-sized hive and provided with suitable conditions, your nuc has room to expand into a thriving full colony as the season progresses.

£50 Deposit – Reserve Your 2027 Nuc

Secure your nuc now with a £50 non-refundable deposit. Our nucs are produced to order, and your deposit allows us to purchase the queens, frames and equipment needed to prepare your colony. For this reason, deposits are non-refundable.

You don't need to pay the full amount today. The remaining balance will automatically be charged on 1 April 2027 using the original payment method used when placing your order.

Collection or Mainland UK Delivery

Choose the option that suits you when ordering:

Collection: Collect your nuc from us in Kent once colonies are ready in spring.

Delivery: Have your nuc delivered directly to you using Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Because bees develop according to natural conditions, exact availability dates can vary from year to year depending on the spring weather and colony development. We will contact you during April to arrange or confirm a suitable collection or delivery date.
