These National Trust Bird Peanuts are sourced from human food-grade stocks and carefully selected to ensure there are no detectable traces of aflatoxin, a naturally occurring mould toxin that can develop when peanuts are grown, stored or transported in excessively warm or humid conditions. Even in very small amounts, aflatoxin can be extremely harmful to birds, which is why such care is taken to provide peanuts of the highest possible quality.

Important feeding advice:

• Never feed whole peanuts loose or directly to birds

• Whole peanuts must only be offered in a wire mesh peanut feeder

• Feeding whole peanuts or large pieces without a feeder can present a serious choking hazard, particularly for chicks
